in 1d, orbital parameters are in startfi and rcm1d.def

right now, when running the generic PCM in 1d, there is an ambiguity.

the orbital parameters are really read in from rcm1d.def, and those are used by the model. but in theory, there are slots for these same orbital variables in the controle variable of the startfi.nc

so it is a little confusing for the user of the 1d model to have slots for both of these, and it takes a bit of digging to find out which one is really used

Maybe we can remove the extra unused slots in startfi's controle for the 1d case so there is no confusion?
